In his work, Jelmer Konjo (1993) investigates and observes how we deal with the norm of “being an adult” in our everyday lives and what this means. An important starting point in his work is the open-mindedness of childhood, and the thin line when you see it change or even disappear. Before you even realize it, there is a rut or pattern that Jelmer Konjo wants to continue to break through his work in a playful and layered way.
In the exhibition 'I AM ACTUAL ADULT' in Het Archief he wants to take you into the longing for that open-mindedness, playfulness and a certain - consciously chosen - naivete. Important values that in his view are of great value in everyday life.
